I made the mistake of telling our girls on the Monday before that we would be throwing a LEGO DUPLO party on the Sunday and inviting some of their friends. I spent the next five mornings answering the question, “Mom, is today Sunday?”
LEGO DUPLO was kind enough to send us a party pack filled with their newest toys, along with games, colouring pages, crayons, stickers and some suggestions for throwing a fun LEGO party. The new LEGO DUPLO toys include (from left to right, above):
- LEGO DUPLO Brick Box
- Toddler Starter Building Set
- Toddler Build and Pull Along
- Toddler Build and Play Cubes
- (In front) Two Read & Build Book Sets: These are story books that come with LEGO DUPLO pieces that go together and help to tell the story. We received the ‘Let’s Go Vroom’ and ‘Busy Farm’ sets
A few of our girls’ closest friends came out for the big day and it was fun to watch as everyone dug in and began creating their own masterpieces. The ages ranged from 1.5 years to 5 years old and everyone had their own ideas about what should be made with the sets.
For a little break before snacks, everyone gathered around the table and took out the colouring sets that were sent out with our package. There were some games as well as a LEGO picture to colour in. A big favorite at the party was the stickers that were included in the packs.I love watching my daughters interact with each other and their friends through play and this LEGO DUPLO party was a wonderful idea.
Our oldest has already been asking when the next LEGO party will be. I’m thinking we’ll have to set one up with her BFFs for next month.
