This year would have marked a fourth year of featuring an official holiday gift guide on my site. This year, it is not going to happen. Instead, I am replacing my 12 Days of Christmas holiday posts with a hopeful 50,000-word book.
I’ve decided to participate in NaNoWriMo because I have a story to get out. I hear it in my head quietly asking me to let it out of my core and into the world and this is the year that I will join many other writers who feel the same. I don’t know if after I am done that I will share it with anyone, everyone, or no one.
As for my holiday gift guide. I hope that you will consider any of the items that I’ve previously reviewed or will over the next couple of months. I am still very open to working to feature various products and companies, but I don’t feel that you need an official gift guide to make those decisions for you. You are all smart people, you read me don’t you? If I’ve indicated that I like a product or company, then of course I recommend them as gifts if that is what you are in the market for.
I will still be posting during the month of November and will feature any companies that contact me that pique my interest. Honestly, I have no idea where my story is going to take me or how I will write 50,000 words. Like I told my daughter the other day, “It is okay to quit something, but you have to try it first or you won’t know what you are walking away from.”
Is there anyone else in Edmonton, or Alberta, or Canada who will be participating in NaNoWriMo this year?

I’m doing NaNoWriMo for the second year in a row!
So exciting Sarah. I’ll be looking to you for pointers. I’m excited and so nervous about this. Don’t know why…
