My daughter and I try to grab some play time together when we can. Our youngest still takes two naps in a day so if we are home together during a nap, I enjoy pulling out a few different toys that she and I can do together. These are toys that are quiet, require us working and sitting together and communicating with each other.
K’NEX has a lot of toys that fit this description and we have been playing with and working on a couple of different toys together over the past month.
These have been around since 1916 and are a lot of fun for kids of all ages. We received the White River Ranch set that comes with 90 pieces including wooden logs, a cowboy – dog – horse – cow figure, a door with frame, a haybale, 2 roofs, a water trough and a flag.
All of the Lincoln Log sets can be made on their own or combined together to create even larger buildings. My daughter is almost 4 years old and she can work quietly with this set, but prefers to set it up with me as she doesn’t understand some of the ways the wooden logs can go together. She pulls this out a lot to play with and I enjoy our time together while we work to create different buildings.
Silly Monsters Building Set
Create different versions of fun monsters with this K’NEX Silly Monsters set by adding and replacing the different pieces. All of the pieces are interchangeable from the legs, eyes and tail. The pieces fit together using rods and connectors.
My daughter enjoyed playing with this initially, but lost interest after she made the first couple of monsters. I think investing in a couple of the other K’NEX building sets would keep her creativity flowing.
I love that this set can be used with some other K’NEX products. We have an old box of K’NEX pieces so we were able to bring them out and dust them off to create even more fun.
You can find K’NEX products in toy departments and stores across the country, or you can visit the K’NEX store online to see these and all of the other toys they carry.
