As you know, it is important to spend quality time with your kids, whether its reading a story, going to the park or doing some crafts together. So if you are trying to think of something fun for you and your family to do this weekend, then this blog post will show you some great family bonding activities.
Family activities don’t always have to be expensive days out. If you normally look up discount coupons for the zoo or the theatre on money saving websites like lovemoney.com or in your local newspaper, then did you know that there are plenty of other fun trips you can do which are a fraction of the cost? This blog post will give you a few great activities for you and your family to try out over the weekend.
Camping
If you and your kids have never been camping before, then why not set up your own cosy camp site in your front room? Camping in the house is the perfect way to introduce young children to the idea of camping because they are still in their comfort zone and not too far from their beds if they decide they don’t like it. Why don’t you turn off all the lights and use flash lights instead, while you play games and snack on popcorn.
Adventure trail in the park
Taking your kids for a walk in the park is a great way for you all to get some exercise, as well as teaching your children about some of the trees and plants you may come across. On the computer, you could create a nature trail activity sheet which includes photographs of particular plants and birds. When you go for your walk, see if you can get your children to spot all the different plants and birds in the park before ticking it off on their sheet. You could even write a little fun fact about each tree or plant for them to learn.

My father is pretty handy and he recently built a doll house for our 5 year old and she absolutely loves it. She’s definitely a daddy’s girl so she’ll often “help” my husband with chores or in the garage.
