Great Britain’s number one baby and toddler feeding brand, Tommee Tippee , now has their Closer to Nature and Explora lines exclusively available at Babies “R” Us stores (and online) across Canada.
When we bottle-fed Little Bird, we chose a basic bottle, not knowing any better. It turned out that she had some difficulty with digestion and she had a lot of gas. We ended up switching to another bottle and her gas pains eased a bit.
I didn’t realize at the time that there was such a thing as gas, colic, etc, or that there were so many different bottles available to help with these problems. Hey, I was a rookie! This time around I will be trying out the Tommee Tippee brand of feeding bottles.
Not every child will benefit from the same bottle so it is a good idea to pick a brand and try it out before spending a fortune on bottles. This is where the Newborn Starter Kit from Tommee Tippee comes in handy. It is a starter kit and has two different bottle sizes (4 X 9 fl oz., and 2 X 5 fl oz.), plus three formula dispensers and a bottle cleaner all in the package. That is a perfect amount to get a good idea if an item is going to be a good match for your newborn or not.
The bottle is BPA- and phthalate-free and is anti-colic, and is designed to closely mimic the natural shape, feel and movement of breastfeeding so it will aid in an easier transition to the bottle. The bottles also come with a travel cap that seals liquid in for a spill-proof carrying. You can also choose between a bottle colour for girls, boys or neutral to suite any preferences.
So this is the kit that we will start out using and I will be back to this post with an update on how it is going once our little angel starts bottle-feeding.
The starter kit retails for $44.99 on the Babies “R” Us website and is a good buy to try out the bottle to make sure it works on your little one before purchasing more.
