Ecojot Review

I love notebooks. Opening up a new notebook is like starting a new adventure. Before blogging, I was still a writer and when I looked at a new book I wondered about what would eventually be written down. Would I have a great idea or story? At the end of my book, what would I have to say?

Ecojot is a Canadian company that shares my love of notebooks and I have to admit that I have been cyber-stalking them for awhile. I love their fun and unique designs.

They have notebooks for different styles. Whether you like to draw, make lists or have books just to take additional notes, they have a design and type for everyone.

Their books are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper products and are made right here in Canada. No new trees are cut down to make these stylish books. The mill where the books are made is even powered by biogas harnessed from a nearby landfill.

Ecojot supports so many great charities that help children, nature, animals and our environment.

They support Canopy which is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the world’s forests, species and climate by collaboratively engaging the business community and public to create a sustainable and innovative supply chain. Ecojot donates $1 from the sale of each ‘bou’ journal to their cause.

They also have a wonderful campaign on right now called Buy 1, We Give 1, where when you purchase one of their Jumbo Journals, 5X7 Journals, Eco Studio Sketchbooks or Eco Kids Sketchbooks, they will donate one workbook to children in need in developing countries.

Look at me gushing on. I haven’t even gotten to my review yet. I was sent a couple of ecoWorkbooks and a cute kids 6X9″ Sketchbook from the JGI Collection. From each item in the JGI collection, a royalty is paid from the proceeds to the Jane Goodall Institute to help conserve endangered species.

The Sketchbooks have a hard front and back cover which is great for drawing. Since inspiration doesn’t always strike when you are close to a table or other hard surface, having a solid back and front cover is great for those on the go. The designs on the covers are colourful and the Sketchbooks are bound with metal coils so the pages can be folded over if needed.

The ecoWorkbooks come in a package of two and are great for regular note taking or to use as an addition to your subject binders to mark down additional or more important information. This would have come in handy for me during my high school years. I took so many notes in some classes, I was always flipping through to find some of the more important items I marked down.  There is also a spot on the front where you can put your name, date and the subject title.

They have their current catalogue available on their website at the bottom left of the page. Their designs are always changing so if you find a design that you must have, don’t put off getting it because it might not be there when you decide to purchase.

They have their list of locations where you can purchase from on their website. You can also buy them online, from some local stores or if you want to take a look at them for yourself, drop in to your local Deserres, Grand & Toy or Indigo stores across Canada and check them out.

To stay up to date on their giveaways and company information, you can like Ecojot on Facebook, follow them on Twitter or sign up for their newsletter at the bottom of their page.
