Chicken Soup for the Soul released Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks Dad in April 2010. Included in this book are 101 stories of gratitude, love and good times with dad.

As I was typing this I drifted off for a moment to think about the word ‘dad’. That word holds such a special place in my heart. Not every father gets that added distinction. It takes a very special man to be a dad. And I am thankful that my dad and my husband both have the qualities needed to earn that distinction.

As with every Chicken Soup book I get to review, I usually pick out a favorite story. One that I can relate to or enjoyed reading. This book is no different. I was particularly drawn to Driven by Robyn Kurth as it reminded me of my teenage days when I was learning to drive. I laughed out loud when I read about her father tensing up as she got in to the driver’s seat of the car and remembered my dad trying to step on his ‘fake brake’ in the passenger seat while he gave me lessons.
