On May 18, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released a new volume in the Mr. Men series titled Mr. Bump Presents: Planes, Trains and Dillymobiles and I couldn’t be happier. I grew up with the Mr. Men books and I remember collecting them with my friends.

The Mr. Men and Little Miss characters live in Dillydale and there are over 25 different characters. When I was growing up, Little Miss Sunshine and Little Miss Chatterbox were my favorites. I think we pick our favorites based on our personalities (and Papa Bird will agree with me on the whole ‘chatterbox’ thing).

This new DVD includes 6 episodes in total and as you can guess by the title, they are mostly around transportation. They include:

  • Car Wash
  • Flying
  • Trains
  • Cars
  • Boats
  • Inventions

Each episode provides a glimpse into multiple characters lives based on the theme of the episode. The theme music is very retro, and if you know me at all, you know – I love retro! Turns out Baby Bird does too because she really danced up a storm when it came on.

I came across a fun site I wanted to share with you. You can actually create your own Mr. Men or Little Miss character for fun at Mr. Men Online – something to pass your day if you need it.

The DVD has a run time of 69 minutes and is available at a suggested retail price of $14.94. As of posting this, it is available on Amazon.ca for $13.49 or Amazon.com for $14.94. If you were a fan of the old books I suggest picking up the DVD and checking out the episodes. You won’t be disappointed.
