Lay’s Chip Trips offers Canadian families the chance to get out and enjoy great discounts to local attractions, restaurants, hotels, and more this summer.
Here’s how it works:
- When you pick up your Lay’s chips this summer, choose a specially marked bag. Each bag is worth between 3 – 15 points depending on the size. The most popular bag size is 10 points – that’s enough points to get you your first discount! Just a side note, there are two new flavours out there (Cheddar and Sour Cream and BBQ Rib) that will get you double the points you would normally get.
- Go to Lays.ca to create your account and then enter the code that is found on the back of the bag.
- On the same site, you can then cash in your points and start planning your summer activities.
It’s that simple. I was able to sign up in less than 3 minutes and it keeps track of my points.
I am also really excited to share that I have a special code for you that will automatically give you 10 points to start you off. Once you create your account, just enter BIRDS-DAY12 in as your first code and 10 points will be added to your account. Please note that these 10 points are only available until May 31, 2010 and will be available to you to cash in once you enter in your first Lay’s Chip Trips code from the back of any specially marked Lay’s chips.
I was searching the site for various ‘trips’ today and there are a lot out there. In searching my province, Alberta, I noticed that the trips were in big and small towns and cities. Both Calgary and Edmonton (of course) offer great deals, but so do Drumheller, Lacombe, Jasper and Banff to name a few.
I’ve already cashed in 30 of my points to receive a $5 gift card from Subway in the mail. This will come in handy on our first outting.
I was talking to Papa Bird tonight and our first trip will be next month to the zoo here in Edmonton. Lay’s Chip Trips is allowing us to buy 1, get one 1/2 price at our city zoo and since Baby Bird is under 2, she gets in free anyway.
My parents will be back in town for a visit in July/August so I think a trip out to the Telus Science Centre is in order, or maybe West Edmonton Malls Waterpark/Galaxyland — or both!!!
My Tip: When you register and check for trips, don’t search by city. When I searched by ‘Edmonton’, only a few trips came up. When I searched by ‘Alberta’ more came up that were also good in Edmonton.
This is a great chance to get out and enjoy the summer while saving money. There are trips right across the country so if you are planning a trip to another province, make sure to check out everything that is offered for that province as well.
For more information you can head over to Lays.ca.
When you head over to sign up and check out what there is to do, leave a comment here and let me know what you will be taking advantage of this summer.
I am participating in the Lay’s Chip Trips program by Mom Central on behalf of Frito Lay. I received Lay’s Chip Trip points and a gift card to off-set my trip costs to facilitate this post. The opinions in this blog are my own.
