Nick Jr Favorites: Go Green! DVD Review (Closed)

On March 30, Nick Jr. will be releasing Nick Jr. Favorites: Go Green! on DVD. Included in this DVD are Earth Day-inspired episodes from Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go!, Wonder Pets!, Yo Gabba Gabba!, Blue’s Clues and Ni Hao, Kai-lan.

This DVD is coming out at a great time. Thursday, April 22, 2010 is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The stories in each episode are focused on saving the planet and the animals that live on it. Covering topics such as recycling, watching these episodes are a great way to open up dialogue about doing our part at such a young age.

We want to start early teaching Baby Bird about recycling, growing our own vegetables and composting and it helps that there are shows that she likes out there talking about this too. It gives us a chance as parents to relate what we are doing around the house (gardening, recycling, etc) with what our daughter’s favorite characters are doing.

These are all shows that Baby Bird enjoys watching and I like that this DVD has a mix of different cartoons in one DVD. We will be traveling soon for a visit back home and this one will be coming with us. It is so much easier to take one DVD that covers six different shows than to take all six in our suitcases.

The six shows on this DVD are:

Go, Diego, Go!: Manatee’s Mermaid Rescue
Wonder Pets!: Save the Tree ~ Save the Elephant
Yo Gabba Gabba!: Green
Blue’s Clues: What Does Blue Want to Make Out of Recycled Things?
Ni Hao, Kai-lan: The Place Where We All Live

The DVD is about 145 minutes in length and it will be released on March 30, 2010.
