As if life isn’t busy enough! We are putting an offer on a house today…
Actually, we wrote it up last night and it is being presented this afternoon.
I have been keeping myself busy at work and to make sure my lunch hour goes by quickly, I will be putting up another review/giveaway so check back.
I can tell I am nervous because I was quiet last night and today. Those of you who are within earshot of me know that that is not normal for me. I am trying to take it all in and not be too excited as the offer can still be rejected.
I have a question for those of you that have ever bought your own place. Did you find it stressful? fun? overwhelming?

i always love online shopping due to my buzy sedeual and i always use coupon codes whenever i plan for shopping because it save my money.
Congrats Sheri! I hope the offer is accepted and you have a new home.
When we bought it was extremely stressful. There were bidding wars like mad at the time and we had already lost two houses as a result.
We put in our offer on this one while waiting to put in an offer on another due to the owner being out of town (and I liked this house better). We waited until midnight to hear from our agent to let us know if one of the owners was going to be available the next morning (divorce situation). We were literally parked outside the house the next morning with our agent running back and forth negotiating with thier agent.
We signed the dotted line on the hood of our car.
The owners invited us in for coffee and congrats etc. Their agents beeper was going like mad all of a sudden. 4 offers came in within minutes of us signing and agreeing!!!
Love my house. Lots of work, and there always seems to be something that needs fixing but all is good and well worth the initial stress.
All of the above. Various circumstance made each stressful, but we've learned from each one.
I love moving and house shopping, but it sure does take it's toll on you, mentally, emotionally, and financially too!
We have owned for 3 years now? maybe 2? ah?! Yes it is stressful… but so worth it! … I have had enough 'crazy'land lords in my day thank you very much! but… when something isn't right… you fix it and pay for it! ;) best of luck!
Good luck! The first time I bought a house I was 23 and it was exciting and stressful, but what I remember most, is the enourmous let down the day we finally took possession! I'm not sure what it was all about. The fact that my husband was at work and I went to the new house for the first time with only me and my 1 and 2 year old. Or if it was such a build up and then it was over. Kinda the way Christmas can be. Or maybe the fact that everytime we had looked at the house it was decorated and being lived in and seeing it bare for the first time was a total shock. I would never recommend buying a house without looking at it when it's empty. But in truth I think it was a combination of all these things, and I soon got over it and everything was fine!
