I received the second of three books from Chicken Soup for the Soul titled Count Your Blessings. The stories in this book are ones of gratitude, faith, being thankful and seeing the silver lining in situations.

This book has come at a very good time for me. Lately I have been feeling overwhelmed and a little lost. Granted we are at a busy point in our lives right now. We have decided to look for a new house as we want to be in a neighbourhood that will offer Baby Bird an abundance of friends within close proximity. So we are getting our house ready to sell at the same time that we are looking and everything is crazy. I’ve been feeling lost, tied to chores, and like I am missing out. Don’t get me wrong, we are a very happy family, we are just busy and it is my hope that once we find a house that doesn’t need as much renovation, a lot of our free time will be spent watching the world go by and teaching our daughter how to be a kid and enjoy life.
This book has a wonderful section in it called ‘Back to Basics’ that I read first. My favorite story was the first one titled “Opting for a Slower Pace’ about a family that was so busy all of the time and how they changed their routines and got back to just being a family. That is my desire and it gives me hope that one day, hopefully soon, we will be able to be that family.
Here is a brief description of this book: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Count Your Blessings (Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, LLC, November 2009) will inspire readers to stay positive in dark times, because there is always a silver lining and we all have plenty be thankful for.
Chicken Soup for the Soul has offered to give two of my readers a copy of this book as a giveaway…
