I received a new book from Chicken Soup for the Soul titled The Story Behind the Song. This is absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite Chicken Soup book OF ALL TIME! My husband and I are both very much into music, almost all genres so getting a book that reviews 101 different songs and goes through why, when and how many of these songs came to be was wonderful.
I couldn’t believe it. They even covered one of my favorite songs from when I was younger. Ray Stevens wrote a song called “The Streak” about a streaker, a redneck and a hussy. I loved reading about how he came up with the idea and the time in history that song was conceived. I have to say a big thank you for coming out with this book. My husband has been reading it too and I have even found this book in the bathroom. That is actually quite an honour for a book in our household…
Here is a brief description of this book: Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Story Behind the Song (Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, LLC, November 2009) has personal stories from some of the best songwriters about some of their hits and what made them write them. These songwriters cover all genres and is a great read for anyone who likes music.
