DaysAgo – Review & Giveaway (Closed)

December 6, 2009 · 47 comments

Papa Bird and I couldn’t figure out the last time we had changed the filter in the furnace since we moved in four years ago. By our calculations, he hasn’t changed it yet, and I think I changed it twice, but I’m positive I changed it once. Even at twice in fours years – not good!

DaysAgo was born out of the frustration of trying to guess how long some baby food was left in the fridge. The DaysAgo is a device that you can attach to leftovers that will start to count the days and hours since something has been put in the fridge. And it doesn’t stop at food.

Now we will know how long it has been since our furnace filter was last changed and in the spring when Papa Bird starts doing our oil changes again, he can use them to mark the time between oil changes.

DaysagoWe were sent 3 different types of the DaysAgo to review. Last week I pulled out some yams I had made two days before. I was going to feed them to Baby Bird and us for dinner. The problem was, I looked at the DaysAgo attached to the container and it indicated the leftovers were actually stored 4 days ago. Hmmm… in re-reviewing our past meals we did in fact have them four days ago – I suck!

The DaysAgo come in three different styles depending on what you need them for. They come with a magnetic, suction and band backing and they come in 2-packs and can be purchased through their online site. The 2-pack retails for $8.00.

They also have a great refrigerator storage guide that tells you how long food will stay fresh in your fridge for.

DaysAgo is also offering three (3) lucky This Bird’s Day readers a 2-pack of the magnet-style DaysAgo of their own as a giveaway…

Aside from being able to use this for just about everything, I would definantly use it to keep track of deli sliced luncheon meat.

I'm a little OCD so I would use them to keep track of how long things last, like laundry detergent, a box of diapers, etc. and also for leftovers in the fridge.

I would use it for plant watering. My poor jade plant would really like some consistency!

Ooh..i have always wanted to try one of these! Heard about them a while ago.. They would be so handy!! I am BAD with leftovers..cannot ever remember how long ago we've cooked food..which is terrible, especially thinking that it hasn't been too long when reality is it has been much longer! Besides leftovers..things like salsa would also be handy for!

We often find ourselves discussing how long leftovers have been in the fridge so that's how we'd be using them!
