Guardian Angel Bracelet – Review, Discount & Giveaway (Closed)

October 17, 2009 · 16 comments

I am doing a double review and giveaway with a fellow blogger from Winnipeg. She is the owner and one of the writers behind SaveMoneyinWinnipeg.blog.ca. We both have daughters at different ages and will be reviewing the Guardian Angel Bracelet. For this review we were both sent a Family Pack of 10 Guardian Angel Bracelets. We also both have a giveaway to go along with our review so make sure you double your chances of winning and enter both giveaways. We also haven’t talked to each other about our reviews, so any similarities or differences are completely incidental.

Guardian BannerGuardian Angel Bracelet ID was developed by Kimberly Martinez after she lost her son at the beach for almost 25 terrifying minutes. The bracelet is designed so that if your child goes missing, they will have your cell number on the bracelet in permanent marker so that you can be quickly contacted. When you put the bracelet on, you are supposed to explain to your child that if they get separated, then they should go to the nearest mother they see and ask them to contact you on the number provided. Being separated from a parent can be a scary experience for a child, so the bracelet holds your cell number in case your child is too flustered to remember it.

That is the original intended use, but I have another.

You see, Baby Bird isn’t old enough yet to disappear so quickly. She is still learning to walk with help. When I first heard about these bracelets, it reminded me of a fear I had about 5 months ago, and still have when I am out with Baby Bird. I was walking one day in the mall with Baby Bird while on my maternity leave and I thought to myself “What would happen to Baby Bird if I just passed out right now? How would she be quickly reunited with Papa Bird?”. We were in the mall alone, knew no one. So, what if I just fainted. I mean weirder things have happened, and it’s not so far fetched. I am unconscious and there is Baby Bird just sitting there. Okay, someone obviously would come to me, check my wallet maybe. Okay, they know my name – big whoop! It doesn’t say in there what my husband’s first name is or where he works to contact him, It would be a full day, until he got home from work before he would get any message that I was in trouble and Baby Bird is with strangers!

BraceletI use this bracelet when I am out alone with Baby Bird and in place of just putting one cell number on there, I put two. One number has ‘mom’ before it and the other has ‘dad’ and it goes directly to Papa Bird’s cell so he can act quickly if called. Doing this has given me a greater peace of mind.

Guardian Angel Bracelets come in a few different packs and are available at their online shop.

Guardian Angel has offered This Bird’s Day readers a 20% discount on your bracelet purchases up to October 30, 2009. Just enter the word thisbird in the coupon code box while checking out and your order will be adjusted.
