HAES Book CoverI received a copy of Health at Every Size by Linda Bacon PhD from Author Marketing Experts, Inc for review. I was a little reluctant to start reading this book at first. I didn’t know what to expect and I thought that this book was going to be another diet book. I didn’t want to start another diet. But that’s not what this book is about and it really blew me away.

From the start of this book, it talks about how dieting is actually the problem. You know how every time you try to diet, you seem to gain it all back plus an additional 5 pounds or so? (Kind of like your body is taxing you for abusing it!). This books explains all of that and more. I had my eyes opened on many pages of this book, but my favorite sentence came on page 5 and kicked off this great book for me.

“Dropping the pursuit of weight loss isn’t about giving up, it’s about moving on.” And I need to move on. I need to enjoy my life with my husband and daughter to the fullest NOW, not after I lose 20 pounds. This book also talks about how smart our bodies and how they communicate to us, and how sometimes we just don’t listen.

I recommend this book to anyone who has ever tried a diet, or put their life and happiness on hold until they lose 5 more pounds, or to anyone who wants to learn more about how our bodies work and communicate to us.

Author Marketing Experts, Inc. has offered one of my readers their own copy of this book.

I really haven't done any "trendy" diets/diet plans but I have had eating disorders my entire life. I would either starve myself or binge (without purging). I now try very hard to eat properly, but its not easy for me!

One food I couldn't do without is diet dr pepper, if that's considered food lol

    Thanks

Are you joking?? I've tried every diet in the book. Jenny Craig, WW, Nutrisystem. And the whole time it wasn't even necessary. I always gained it back plus five. Now I'm (almost) at a healthy weight just from exercise and eating.
