I have a series of new titles from the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series that I will be reviewing and giving away over the next year. I am so happy to be participating in this as I have enjoyed reading past books. The thing I like most about them is that I can read one or two short stories before I go to bed.

Up first is Tough Times, Tough People. This is a very timely release due to the economic situation that we are all facing. Being the frugal person that I am, I enjoyed reading the various ways people were able to save money. It gave me some great ideas to add to my collection. My favorite story within this book was “They Won’t Eat Us!”. I found it was good for anyone who had to face any situation that they were afraid to.

Tough Times, Tough PeopleHere is a brief description of this book: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People (Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, LLC, June 2009, 978-1-935096-35-1, $14.95) reminds us that tough times won’t last, but tough people will. Tough People is all about overcoming adversity, pulling together, making do with less, facing challenges, and finding new joys in a simpler life. This new collection shares tales of people who have been laid off, lost their homes, and endured wrenching life changes, but discovered the underlying gifts in their new situations. More time at home with family, creative “staycations,” more satisfying job opportunities, and renewed gratitude for health and life are just a few of the silver linings these survivors have learned to cherish.

Chicken Soup for the Soul has offered to give two of my readers a a copy of this book as a giveaway…
